Discovering Nature - a new family friendly puzzle game

Heidi says:

Could you imagine our world without animals? Horrible! To avoid this you can gust like me try your best in Discovering Nature!

Discovering Nature

In this game you have a chance to help Professor Jane Pinckleport and put an end to a deadly virus. So, we have to collect different types of animals for expertise. It is a tricky puzzle, where you have to select as many animals of the same type with one move, but not only this… You will match pairs, food chains, search for infected animals, play survival game, feed bears, other mini games and even more.

You will progress in this game if in all golden frames (2 at the beginning) you will have animals of the same type, they will disappear and golden frames will be replaced. You will get a good bonus, if you will collect a whole row or all animals of the same type on the playfield.

This game is not only fun, it is a great possibility for Kids to learn various animals of different parts of our world and their food chains. (Somehow I think it could be useful for adults also ;) )
And here are some tips:
- Look careful what types of animals you have to collect! In some puzzles there are more kinds of animals on the playfield, than you need (insects or grass).
- Don’t forget that you can select animals in all 8 directions! Diagonally also!!!
- In “match same” puzzle I usually try to put an animal of the type I need in the lower frame and then fill the upper frame, you will see why ;)
- Match pairs is the easiest puzzle, so try to collect all the bonuses (water and fire). In this puzzles begin from the top, otherwise you can destroy some pairs.
- In the “feeding bears” mini game it is easier for me to feed the farther one. If he could eat you first fish, don’t move your mouse and try to click so quick you can for some seconds. This helped me to complete the game much faster.

Have fun and learn a lot with Discovering Nature!

Jay Is Games: Thule Trail

Thule Trail is a re-imagining of the grade school classic, Oregon Trail, but instead of playing a family of 19th century immigrants, you play a group of 20 somethings road-tripping to a music festival. Instead of going to Oregon, you're going to Santa Barbara. The game takes its name from the 20th century occult society that sought the road to Atlantis; the music festival you travel to is called Atlantis, so it works. The rest of the game follows suit like a friendly slacker.

Casual Gamer Chick: Flash Game: Bomb Chain

Bomb Chain is a very different type of puzzle game done entirely in flash. The objective of the game is to clear all of the bombs from the screen. The player accomplishes this task by lighting one bomb and that bomb will blow up and hopefully ignite other bombs on the board in a chain reaction until all of the bombs have been lit and explode.  The bombs are different colors and the different colors signify the blast direction when the bomb explodes. The red bombs explode in a diagonal fashion and the green bombs explode in a horizontal and vertical fashion.Bomb Chain

The puzzle part of the game is figuring out where to place the “spare” bombs you receive at the beginning of each level. The pattern of bombs that each level contains varies and is never complete until you fill in the gaps with your bombs. In other words, you couldn’t just click on a bomb at the start of a level and have the chain reaction complete the level without you doing anything. If you could, that wouldn’t be much of a puzzle game. The player drags their bombs onto the board and puts them in the place that they think is most likely to explode all of the bombs on the board.

Two bombs can be combined into a super bomb. The super bomb’s explosions are two tiles bigger than normal bombs. The player creates a super bomb by dragging one of their bombs onto an already placed bomb on the board.

The levels start out fairly easy and don’t require much thought to figure out, but they get much harder as you progress. Some of the levels I had to try multiple times before I got the correct bomb placement. Bomb Chain definitely makes you think, but it is a lot of fun at the same time. If you are looking for a different, but fun, puzzle game, check out Bomb Chain.

GameZebo: The Secret Garden: How a little pruning saved Garden Defense

The first time Andy Megowan saw a tower defense game, it was more than just a simple Flash-based diversion. It was a flash of inspiration.

"The first one I saw was Flash Element TD," he said. "I liked it as a hardcore gamer, but I was more excited at the possibilities. It was a real-time strategy game, but they had eliminated having to watch your units die."

From a simple game of Flash Element TD, Megowan would go on to create not only his own take on the genre, but a whole other world with Garden Defense.
