An old Flash favorite hangs in balance while a few word games keep your iPhone fingers busy this week, along with most excellent Skabooki, a game that’s eaten many hours of my life away with its simple but elegant construction. That darn voodoo doll is just so cute!strong Tagged as: /stronga href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/blogblog/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/iphoneiphone/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/itunesitunes/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/mobilemobile/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/mobile-mondaymobile-monday/a

This week on Link Dump Friday! A star studded lineup of thrills, chills, explosions, erasers, hamburgers, and more! It’s more exciting than an afternoon at the theater, and without all the guilt from the four pound bag of theater-sized Mamp;Ms you just ate. No, we’re not judging. We’ve been there, too.strong Tagged as: /stronga href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/blogblog/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/linkdumplinkdump/a

Our favorite green-skinned favor trader is back and he’s learning a very potent lesson from the last time he performed A Small Favor. Performing political assassinations can be bad for one’s health. Still, once a favor trader, always a favor trader. Use your point and click skills to scrub your ID badge and keep the government goons at bay.strong Tagged as: /stronga href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/adventureadventure/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/asmallfavorasmallfavor/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/browserbrowser/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/flashflash/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/freefree/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/gamegame/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/jziebarthjziebarth/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/pointandclickpointandclick/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/rating-orating-o/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/zeebarfzeebarf/a

pI recently got a review copy for a href=http://www.kingoffighters12.com/King of Fighters XII/a and while I haven#8217;t checked it out yet, I wanted to mention that I#8217;m open for similar bribes. Right now I#8217;m interested in physical copies (since they look better in pictures), and especially games for Playstation 3./p
pI look forward into checking in how this game runs#8230; I have no idea if I#8217;ll like it but this certainly brought me memories about the visit I did to Turkey 15-20 years ago when we kids played iStreet Fighter II/i every day#8230; anyway, I#8217;ll report back later./p
pHere#8217;s a King of Fighters XII trailer for those interested.br /
/p
piSmall tip for bloggers: using ads and stuff like that isn#8217;t the only way to #8220;monetize#8221; your blog, just ask people to send you goodies and you#8217;ll be surprised on the stuff you can receive./i/p

To boldly go where no one-eyed, rocket-propelled cat has gone before, Rockitty needs your help in this bouncy, bizarre arcade space adventure from Nitrome! Explore the milky way, battle dangerous space squid, collect delicious fish, and more across 22 levels of space cat fun. It’s a wondrously weird, frequently squishy game that plays like pinball. In space. With one-eyed green cats. Just as Mother Nature always intended.strong Tagged as: /stronga href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/actionaction/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/adventureadventure/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/arcadearcade/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/browserbrowser/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/flashflash/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/freefree/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/gamegame/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/macwinlinuxmacwinlinux/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/nitromenitrome/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/rating-grating-g/a, a href=http://jayisgames.com/tag/spacespace/a

Grey Alien Games: Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
pA good friend of mine just wrote me letter and he was telling me about the various growth-oriented things he was doing (hobby, business, family) and that he felt overwhelmed with everything and was wondering why he was doing all that stuff. Interestingly he felt a bit better towards the end of the letter just through the act of writing about it because he was able to clearly express and share his worries instead of them being a nebulous floating bad feeling in his mind (and no doubt a horrible physical feeling in his abdomen)./p
pemLesson: Write stuff down, get it out of your mind whether it#8217;s current tasks, future goals or fears. Don#8217;t dwell on it./em/p
pemOffer to you: tell me your worries in the comments (or email me if you want to) and see if it makes you feel better./em/p
pAnyway, I replied to him as follows:/p
pSo I hear that you are feeling overwhelmed by your new hobby, your new business venture, and your responsibilities as a parent and husband. Well that is understandable and OK to feel that way. In fact it#8217;s GOOD. Do you know why? Because I was reading something a while back that said as we GROW we push the boundaries of our comfort zones, and we have to grow our comfort zones in order to be able to DO MORE and EARN MORE otherwise we would stay in the same (crappy) place./p
pSo what happens when you grow is that your OLD mind tries to drag you back to where it was because it doesn#8217;t like the change, it wants comfort and to curl up into a ball and do nothing (I experience this from time to time, and felt it Monday last week when it was raining and I was sitting on the toilet before going to work, BUT by the end of the day I had kicked myself into action and felt great about all the things I#8217;m doing). You only experience that feeling of #8220;why am I doing all this stuff?#8221; BECAUSE you have changed and are growing - it#8217;s an indication that you are doing the right thing./p
pMy advice is roll with it; when you feel crappy say #8220;that#8217;s OK, that#8217;s my old mind trying to drag me down, so I must be changing#8221;. Then think about the amazing positive outcomes of all the things you are doing and visualise them. Hopefully you can change your feeling. If not, then go for a walk, connect with nature, listen to some music, read something positive, or get on with one of your projects until your *new* mind takes back over again. I hope this helps!/p

Our 3rd Casual Gameplay Design Competition received a ton of great submissions from a number of talented game designers. Taking first place in that competition was Wouter Visser’s Gimme Friction Baby, a strikingly simple arcade-style game of skill involving a moving turret and expanding orbs. Now, just over two years later, Bitforge has come and updated the game for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Orbital is the new incarnation of Gimme Friction Baby, adding some slick visuals, tweaking the physics a bit, and adding a new gameplay mode along with multiplayer support!

Peanut butter and bananas! Cheese and crackers! You and Jay Is Games! These are just a few of our favourite combinations. This week on Link Dump Friday, we explore some lesser known classic combinations you may not be familiar with, but will still find just as delicious. What’s classic about a ninja and a UFO, you ask? EVERYTHING.

Jay Is Games: Boxed Inn: Panic Room
[Platform: Flash]

Boxed Inn: Panic Room is an enormously impressive escape game, particularly considering that it is Samgine’s first venture into the genre. While the game does have room for improvement, particularly in regards to the inventory interface and handful of imperfectly logical moments, there is plenty here for the escape game lover to dive into and enjoy.
