Casual Game Guides: Jewel Match Review

Hi, my name is Cecelia and I live in northern California with my dog Lulu, cat Baby and a small turtle, Shelly (who is our guest for the summer while my granddaughter is away). My job here, as Anne and Jasper tell me, is to review games for you from time to time from a senior point of view. I am in my 60's so I feel I meet the qualifications. Right now I am addicted to Match 3 games. My favorite is Jewel Match - not to be confused with Jewel Quest, which is also a great game. One of the reasons Jewel Match is so good is the graphics. The Jewels are big, beautiful bold colors that are easy to see. No squinting needed here. The cursor is small and easy to maneuver. You don't have to drag things around, just click. The game seems too easy at first, but don't be fooled. The game gets harder as you move along into the higher levels. There are chains to break, bigger areas to cover, and tiles that seem to come out of nowhere. I haven't even gotten close to the end of this game although I have spent many a pleasant hour playing. This game is really fun and you can get lost in it. Try it out. I think you will really enjoy yourself.

Casual Game Guides: Hidden Expedition Amazon Cheats and Walkthrough

I managed to squeeze in another game guide before I pack up and head to PA for a week to visit my cousins. Cross your fingers the storms out there go away so I'm not cooped up inside all week with my younger cousins... My volunteer work at Homeboys is so rewarding - it feels great to know you might be helping to change someone's life. I really think that all large cities should incorporate this type of program; maybe then we could make a change in today's youth before it's too late. While the internship at LA Times is interesting, it's not quite as rewarding. But then again, I don't actually get to write articles for print, I'm more of a assistant but it's still interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. But enough about me and on to the game guides! When I saw the release of Hidden Expedition: Amazon, I just had to write a guide for it. This is the third game in the series and as always, features spectacular graphics, great game play, and excellent storyline. The puzzles are challenging but if you find them too difficult, that's why I wrote a game guide! In this installment you play the part of a great adventurer who is trying to find a missing professor and the lost Beetle (not Beatles, heehaw) Temple. Sounds a bit bizarre, perhaps, but makes for a great story with a very humorous Professor and a great excuse to immerse you the sights and sounds of... the Amazon! You probably won't hear from me for a few weeks but I promise to find some time to bring you another guide when I get back. There is some promising new HOG coming out soon that I'll be watching closely. If you have any games you'd like to see guides for, don't hesitate to a-mail us and ask - we'll do our best to fulfill your gaming needs! Wishing everyone from the United States a Happy 4th! Be safe!

Sims 2 Free Time Patch Problem and Off-Whack Screen

It's been months since I played a computer game (if I don't include the hour or so I spent with the Spore Creature Creator Demo that has encouragingly shown that my ThinkPad might be up to handling the full game).  I decided to update my Sims 2 with the latest Free Time patch. This crippled the program's initiator but gladly, this is a known issue and was fairly easily resolved via this procedure --->

http://www.simprograms.com/?p=654

I re-encountered the bizarre graphics problem where the game screen is set off-centre. As my Refresh Rate was already at the maximum setting of 75, I had to mess about with the ATI Panel controls. I ticked the box for "Composite Sync". I don't know what it means - but the game picture is now correctly positioned......and there's STILL snow on the ground in Pleasantville.

Casual Gamer Chick: Flash Game: I Am Archer

I Am Archer is a flash based shooting game. The goal of the game is to protect your castle from waves of enemies. Players protect their castle by shooting arrows at the on coming enemies. The arrows are shot by hitting the mouse button. The mouse aims the bow, but sometimes it gets confusing because there is no cursor on the screen to guide you.I am Archer

I am Archer is an easy game to play. The enemies don’t come at you too quickly, but there are a range of different enemies as you progress through the levels. Some enemies come at you quicker than others and some change shape when they make it to your castle. If you do not stop the enemies before they reach your castle, they start beating on the castle and cause the castle damage. Players need to kill the enemies before they kill the castle or the game is over.

I Am Archer did not get great reviews by the addicting games community, but I thought it was an ok game. I think it is one of those games that is great to pass time. Not too hard to play and not too easy that it is boring. It is a great game for people that are just looking to pass a little bit of time or are bored and looking for something to do. Check out I am Archer and see what you think of it.

Jay Is Games: Weekend Download

A few short, experimental-type games this week, including one from prolific Game Maker designer cactus, a two color game where you are a wild boar, and a game where you control a dark sun to capture golden butterfly/angel-type things. And just to make sure you don't go mad with weirdness, there's a nice relaxing mahjong game to tame the inner beasts.
